Janice E. Macinanti of Woburn passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 18th, at her home, surrounded by her family, following a lengthy illness. The wife of Retired Woburn Police Detective Richard R. Macinanti, she was seventy-three years of age.
Born in Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Nyman) Christie. Her family moved to Woburn when she was a young girl, and she was raised and educated here. Until her retirement, she worked for Alpha Industries for many years as a technician.
Jan loved to cook and decorate for the holidays. Most important to her was her family, and she loved spending time with them. Her favorite place to visit was Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, where the family enjoyed many memorable summers. A generous woman whose life mission was taking care of others, Jan donated weekly to the Food Pantry and she "loved only one way-unconditionally."
