OBITUARY:

Helen J. Cabral of Naples, Maine, a native of Woburn, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Waltham on Monday, January 18th, at the age of eighty-seven. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Cabral, who died in 2002.

Born in Woburn, she was one of twelve children of the late Thomas J. and Mary (Foley) O'Donnell. She grew up on Prospect Street in the South End and graduated from St. Charles High School with the Class of 1940. She and her husband Arthur were married in 1944 and, after leaving Woburn, lived in Stoneham for eighteen years, and then in Andover for twenty-four years before taking up residence in Naples, Maine, in 1984.

She worked for J.H. Winn Company and Transitron in earlier years. Helen was a great cook and enjoyed entertaining. When her boys were young, they enjoyed camping as a family. In later years she was active in senior citizens organizations in Maine. For many years, she and her husband spent time in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Along with her beloved husband Arthur, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Cabral, who died in 2001, five brothers: Thomas, Richard, Harold, Edward, and Roger "Red" O'Donnell, and six sisters: Winifred Callahan, Esther O'Connell, Rosemarie McCall, Loretta Delorey, Bernadette Looney, and Maureen, who died as an infant.

Surviving are three sons: Arthur, Jr. and his wife Judy of Wakefield, and Thomas J. and his wife Peg, and Joseph Cabral, all of Naples, ME, four grandchildren, Terry Ann, Stephanie, Jonathan and Sharon, and a great-granddaughter, Meghan.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, January 23rd at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours at the funeral home are on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
