Longtime companion of the late Evelyn Akeson. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, January 22nd at 10:30 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the mass. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Adolph's memory to the charity of one's choice.

OBITUARY:

Adolph J. Galante, a native of Woburn who lived in Winchester most of his life, passed away early Wednesday, January 20th, at the Aberjona Nursing Center following a brief illness. He was ninety years of age.

Born in Winchester, he grew up in Woburn, son of the late Robert and Angelina (DeSalvo) Galante. He grew up in the South End of Woburn and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1936. A veteran of World War II, he proudly served as a medic in the European Theater of Operations.

He was a longtime employee of Mass. Electric, working as an inspector. He loved to dance in his younger years and was a longtime member of the South End Italian Club in Woburn.

Preceding him in death were his longtime companion, Evelyn Akeson, a brother, Italo Galante, and a sister, Violet Elia.

He was the beloved brother of Americo "Rick" Galante of Malden, Angelina "Jean" Gonsalves and her husband John of Woburn, and dear uncle to many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, January 22nd at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the mass.
