Beloved mother of Cheryl Marciano and her husband Michael and Robin McDonald and her husband David, all of Woburn, Sandra Antonelli of Medford, and John F. "Jack" Young and his wife Nancy of Derry, NH. Dear sister of the late L. Robert Varney. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Prudy's memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

OBITUARY:

Prudence A. "Prudy" Young, a resident of Woburn for most of her life, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center Wednesday morning, January 20th, at the age of seventy-six.

Born in Danforth, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Harriet (Thompson) Varney. She grew up in Maine and Woburn, completing her education in the Woburn school system.

For many years she worked at M.I.T. as a administrative assistant, and at the same time worked as a hostess at the NCO Club at Hanscom Air Force Base.

She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, and enjoyed playing bridge. She loved spending time at her second home in Hampton Beach in the summers, and relaxing with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dear brother, L. Robert Varney, who died just three weeks ago.

Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Marciano and her husband Michael and Robin McDonald and her husband David, all of Woburn, and Sandra Antonelli of Medford, and a son, John F. "Jack" Young and his wife Nancy of Derry, NH. She was also the loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Saturday, January 23rd at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Marion Williams officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private.

Calling hours at the funeral home are on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
