OBITUARY:

Mary L. O'Brien, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away at Winchester Hospital Monday morning, July 13th, following a short illness. She was seventy-six years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, Mary was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Anna (Imbelleziero) Giglio. She devoted herself to raising her twin daughters, and was employed by Sylvania and later Polaroid for many years. During her retirement years she worked as a caregiver for the elderly.

Mary was strongly involved in mission work through the Mt. Hope Christian Center in Burlington. She not only traveled to India and Israel doing missionary work for her church, but she often hosted, sometimes for many months, overseas visitors who were studying missionary work in this country. After her retirement she worked part time as a receptionist at the Christian Center.

Along with her travels for her church, Mary enjoyed a memorable trip to Italy with her family. She was a great cook and was always happy spending time with her daughters and their families.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Philip and Victor Giglio, and a sister, Ann Sheldon.

Surviving are her twin daughters, Susan M. Larkin and her husband William of Woburn and Cindy Codner and her husband Nick of Londonderry, New Hampshire; three brothers, Anthony "Tiny" Giglio and his wife Suzanne of Woburn, Paul Giglio of Florida, and Al Giglio of California; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Edwards, Bill Larkin, and Nicholas Codner III, and great-granddaughter, Skyla Marcotte.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 17th, at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Hope Christian Center, 3 McGinnis Drive, Burlington, with Pastor Rick Picariello officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Calling hours will be held at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
