Also survived by nine nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, July 23rd at 9 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Stephen's memory to the Boys and Girls Club of Woburn, Charles Gardner Lane, Woburn, MA 01801.

OBITUARY:

Stephen R. Halliday, a native of Woburn who had made his home in Vermont in recent years, passed away suddenly early Saturday, July 17th, after having been stricken at his home in White River Junction. The beloved son of Nancy (Dunigan) Halliday of Woburn and the late John Halliday, he was fifty-eight years of age.

Born and raised in Woburn, he attended Woburn schools and graduated from Woburn High School with the Class of 1970. A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in Vietnam with the US Marine Corps.

Following his honorable discharge in 1974, he took up residence in Texas, where he lived for several years before returning to Woburn in the early 90's. For the past eight years he had made his home in White River Junction, where he worked at the Veterans Hospital.

Surviving are a daughter, Kristi Halliday of Big Spring, Texas, his mother, Nancy Halliday of Woburn, a brother, Jack Halliday and his wife Beth of Nova Scotia, and two sisters, Susan Hartmere and her husband Jon of Woburn and Jane Halliday and her husband John Fetting of Baltimore, Maryland. He also leaves nine loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, July 23rd at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
