DENISE (MERLIN) THIBAULT - of Woburn, formerly of Saint Quentin, France, July 26th. Beloved wife of the late Joseph N. Thibault. Survived by a cousin, Dominique Guezou and his wife Beatrice of France, and many dear longtime friends. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, July 30th at 9:30 a.m. Funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., prior to the mass. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. OBITUARY:
Denise Thibault, a longtime resident of Woburn who came to this country as a "war bride" from France after World War II, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington Monday evening, July 26th, at the age of eighty-four. She was the beloved wife of Joseph N. Thibault, who died in 1990.
Born and raised in France, Denise was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helene (Macquart) Merlin. She met her husband Joe while he was stationed in France during the war, and in 1947 they married and came to live in Massachusetts. They lived in Lawrence and Boston before settling in Woburn in 1956.
Denise worked as a supervisor at the First National Bank of Boston for over thirty-seven years before retiring in 1989.
She enjoyed painting in her leisure time and was a talented artist. She loved animals and adopted many pets over the years. Denise was also a devout parishioner and dedicated volunteer at St. Charles Church.
Denise leaves a cousin, Dominique Guezou and his wife Beatrice of France. She also left many dear longtime friends.
The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Friday, July 30th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., prior to the mass. Interment will follow in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
