OBITUARY:

Angelina (Iandoli) Myers of Woburn, a longtime educator in the Woburn school system, passed away peacefully early Thursday, May 31st, at the Woburn Nursing Center at the age of ninety-four. She was the beloved wife of the late George H. Myers, who died in 1982.

Born in Boston and raised in Somerville, she earned her teaching degree from Salem State Teacher's College. She taught second grade throughout her career, first at the Tarky Elementary School until the school was closed, and later at the Goodyear Elementary in East Woburn. Her career spanned thirty-three years until her retirement in 1987. She truly loved her students and remembered each of them long after they had passed through her classroom. Mrs. Myers was known as a strict teacher while at the same time compassionate and caring. She was a longtime member of the Woburn Teachers Association.

Devoted to her family, she took great pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and liked nothing better than being involved in their lives. "Gram" always had something cooking in the oven and made sure anyone who came to her home had plenty to eat. She enjoyed shopping and dining out, and especially loved participating in any family gatherings. A woman of great faith, Angelina was a lifelong parishioner of St. Charles Church.

Along with her late husband George, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Gerald Iandoli, and a sister, Marion Mahoney.

Surviving are her daughter, Cecilia Cushman of Woburn and her companion Charles Hatch, and her sister, Eleanor Dell of Florida and Maine. She was the cherished grandmother of Debra Miller and her husband Harold, George Cushman, Jr. and his wife Traci, and Shawn Cushman, and great-grandmother of Zachery, Sidney, Anjolia and Elyza Miller, and Molly and Alexandra Cushman.

A prayer service will be held at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Monday, June 4th at 9:45 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Woodbrook Cemetery, 100 Salem Street, Woburn, at 10:15.
