OBITUARY:

Josephine M. (English) Gorrasi Wallace passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Friday, June 22nd, after being stricken Wednesday evening. The beloved wife of the late Howard A."Scotty" Wallace and Arthur J. "Harry" Gorrasi she was eighty six years of age.

Born in Woburn, she was the daughter of thge late Santo and Mary Scaleri Inglese. Raised and educated in Woburn, she was a graduate of Woburn High School and then continued her education at Northeastern University.

She married Mr. Gorrassi and made their home in the Green Street area. Together they brought their son into the world, to whom they were devoted. Sadly in 1980 Mr. Gorrasi passed away.

Later in the eighties she married Mr. Wallace to whom she was devoted for over the next twenty five years. After her son was in school she began working in the City Assesors Office for over twenty years.

During her lifetime Mrs Wallace was very active in her life long community of Woburn. Politically , she had been her brother Gene's strongest supporter over the years as he was actively serving the community over the years in different capacities.

Mrs Wallace and her brother Gene, were the founding members of the Woburn Guild of Artists, as they both were extremely creative with the palat. Her choice of medium was varied. Acrylics, oils and water color where those which she would choose from for a particular project. Flowers she often painted but she also paid great attention to the flowers she had around her home during the spring and summer months. A robust of color would be all around while she enjoyed enetertaining her family and friends at her home.

Opting to go to Tanglewood, the Pops, plays in Boston, the Museums and opera's as often as possible, kept Mrs. Wallace very busy over the years. The Old Baldwin Historical Society she and her husband were actively involved. They had also travelled all over the world visiting Italy, Scotland and all over Europe. Attending the different functions at the Senior Center, playing cribbage, day trips, informational meetings and good ole conversation she so enjoyed.

Throughout her lifetime "Jo" as she was known to all, was a very faith filled, affectionate, warm, loving person. Her very kind and generous nature has touched quite a few people and has left some wonderful memories.

In addition to her parents and husbands Mrs. Wallace was predeceased by both her brothers Gene English and Walter LaPlante. She is the loving mother of Arthur Gorrasi, Jr. of Woburn. Dear friend and sister-in-law of Marilyn English of Woburn. Cherished aunt of Elaine Reidy, Julie Borden, David English, Glen English and their loving families.
