OBITUARY:
Claire T. (Kuninski) Cadran passed away peacefully at her home amongst her loving family. The beloved wife of Leonard J. Cadran, she was eighty one years of age.
Born in Montague, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Florence (Cadieux) Kuninski.
Raised and educated there she was a graduate of Turner Falls High School, Class of 1948. Continuing her education Mrs Cadran travelled to Salem where she persued her Bachelor's degree in Education, which she received in 1953. She returned home upon completion and began her teaching career in Wauchusetts and then to Holden and attended University of MA, where she completed a Masters Degree in education.
In 1956 she married a wonderful gentleman, Leonard Cadran. They had grown up in the same town and Mr. Cadran had gone off to the service and upon his return home he reintroduced himself to Claire and the rest was history! They would have celebrated fifty six years of marriage on Friday. In 1961 they moved to the West side of Woburn, where they have made their home. Mrs Cadran had taught in Lexington and when her daughter Susan arrived she retired. She devoted herself to her family and home. In later years she returned to the work force where she worked for the Government teaching in the CEDAR program.
Mrs Cadran enjoyed travelling. They had frequently gone back to the western part of the state where she grew up to visit relatives and friends. Cross country, mountains, rivers and oceans, she truly was fascinated by it all. A very active reader throughout her lifetime, mysteries where always at the top of the list. An avid sportsperson throughout the years, she thoroughly enjoyed college basketball along with the Celtics and Patriots.
A rather quiet and gentle woman, Mrs Cadran's family was her world. Her wonderful sense of humor, extraordinary listening abilities and unconditional love is a legacy held close to their hearts.
Mrs. Cadran is lovingly survived by her husband Leonard J. Cadran. Devoted mother of Susan A. Cadran Tillinghast of Dedham. A Memorial Service will be held in the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn on Thursday, June 28th at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Funeral Home between 10-11a.m. one hour prior to the service.
