CHARLES A. "CHARLIE" DUNCAN - in Woburn, formerly of Medford, June 29th. Son of the late Frederick J. and Ann J. (Evans) Duncan. Beloved brother of Ann Melanson of Wellesley, Thomas Duncan and his wife Carmella of Andover, and the late Fred, Lawrence, Bruce, and William Duncan. Loving uncle of 27 nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 3rd at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Calling hours Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Donations may be made in Charlie's memory to Tufts Medical Center, 800 Washington Street, Box 231, Boston, MA 02111, for leukemia research.

Charles A. "Charlie" Duncan of Woburn passed away Thursday morning, June 29th, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after an illness of several months. Son of the late Frederick J. and Ann J. (Evans) Duncan, he was sixty-eight years of age.
Born in Boston, Charlie was raised in Medford and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in Boston. He lived in various places over the years, including Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Burlington and Woburn.
Charlie went into the auto repair business as a young man, and early in his career was a service manager for a car dealership. He later rented a gas station in Somerville at the corner of Beacon and Washington Streets, and operated his own service station, Harvard Exxon, there for many years. He later opened a service station in Arlington Heights and worked for various dealerships over the years.
A happy-go-lucky gentleman with a zest for life, he enjoyed traveling and loved his annual golfing trips to Naples, Florida. Charlie was a member of the Moose Lodge in Woburn, where he served as a Junior Governor, and Post 45 American Legion in Medford. He was a loving brother and a devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Fred, Lawrence, Bruce, and William Duncan.
Surviving are a sister, Ann Melanson of Wellesley, formerly of Needham, and a brother, Thomas Duncan and his wife Carmella of Andover. He was also the beloved uncle of 27 nieces and nephews and their families.
The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 3rd at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main Street, Woburn, at 10. Interment will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.
