OBITUARY:

Grace J. Reynolds, 93, a lifelong Woburn resident, passed away peacefully at her residence late Saturday evening, June 30th, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Reynolds, who died in 1983.

Grace was born in the house on Buckman Street in the South End of Woburn in which she lived for nearly all her life. One of four daughters of the late John and Maryanne (McDevitt) Gallagher, she was a graduate of St. Charles High School.

Employed by the City of Woburn for many years, she worked in the office of the Building Inspector until she was seventy-five. She was a devout member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Winchester for most of her life, and was involved in the Sodality as well as the church choir. Grace also volunteered over 1000 hours at the New England Rehabilitation Hospital.

Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family. Lovingly known as "Nana Grace" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was happiest when spending time with them. She remained active throughout her life, and walked the Mall with a group of friends until she was 92. Since the early 1970's, she and her family spent many happy hours together at their home at Old Silver Beach in Falmouth.

In addition to her husband Richard, Grace was preceded in death by her son, Robert E. Jones, who died just a few weeks ago, her daughter, Carole Ann Nelson, and a sister, Rita Dunn.

Surviving are two sons, Alfred "Aly" Jones of Falmouth and Richard "Rick" Reynolds and his wife Joanne of Malden. She was the mother-in-law of Mary E. Jones and Artie Nelson, both of Woburn, and sister of Mary Churchill and Sally Gallagher, both of Arlington. Also surviving are twelve loving grandchildren: Glenn, Kenneth, and David Nelson, Laurie Donovan, Matthew Nelson, Robert Jones, Jr., Kimberly Shooter, Brian Jones, Heather Rogers, Dawn Marie Dockery, Derek Jones and Richard Reynolds III, eighteen great-grandchildren, as well as her niece and nephews and their families.

The funeral will be held from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn, on Tuesday, July 3rd at 10:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn, at 11:30. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Donations may be made in Grace's memory to the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School Street, Woburn, MA 01801.
