OBITUARY:

Barbara A. (Neergaard) Nieman passed away Thursday morning, July 5th, unexpectedly. The beloved daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Stolarsky) Neergaard, she was sixty-five years of age.

Barbara, or “Bobbi,” as she was affectionately known, was raised in East Woburn and attended Woburn Public Schools, graduating from WHS, Class of 1964. She was very active in softball and played throughout her childhood and high school career. As an adult, she coached and managed several softball teams in Woburn’s little league. She had a great passion for the sport.

She worked at Rowes Chevrolet in Lexington in the 70’s and at several Woburn businesses throughout the years as a bookkeeper. Her most recent job, which she took great pride in, was that of crossing guard at the Reeves Elementary School on the West Side for the past few years. She loved going to her job and getting to know all of the children and their parents. Rain, snow, sleet or shine she loved it all.

Bobbi spent a lot of time at Salem Willows Beach, one of her favorite places, along with taking trips to Foxwoods,. In later years, she took up gardening. However, what she most enjoyed was being a “Nana.” She cherished the time she got to spend with her granddaughter Allison and looked forward to the pictures and drawings from her grandchildren, Rachel and Clayton, who live in TN.

Bobbi knew everyone and always knew what was going on around the city . She was a very outgoing person who just enjoyed being around others, whether it was her family, her friends, or those she knew from work or softball. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Bobbi was predeceased by her mother, Helen (Stolarsky) Neergaard and her brother Richard Neergaard. She is lovingly survived by her father, Kenneth Neergaard, her son, Peter A.
