CAMILLE A. (DeVITO) PETERSEN - of Woburn, Saturday, August 18th. Beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Petersen. Devoted mother of Kathleen F. Walsh and her husband John of Lynnfield and Celia Buscemi of Woburn. Dear sister of the late Joseph, Michael, and Nicholas DeVito, Jean Petrelli, Mary Castiglione, and Frances Basso. Cherished grandmother of Caitlin Miaskiewicz and her husband Michael of Salem and Michael Buscemi and his partner Matthew McGovern of Stoneham. Funeral from the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, WOBURN, on Wednesday, August 22nd at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10. Calling hours on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Donations may be made in Mrs. Petersen's memory to the Woburn Senior Center, 144 School St., Woburn, MA 01801

OBITUARY:

Camille A. (DeVito) Petersen passed away on Saturday evening, August 18th . The beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Peterson, was ninety seven years of age.

Born in Woburn’s south end she was one of seven children born to the late Louis and Auslia (Pizzano) DeVito. Raised and educated in Woburn, she was a graduate of Woburn High School, Class of 1933.

Mrs. Petersen, at the age of fourteen, began working at the B&G as a seamstress. She continued working diligently in this field. At the age of nineteen she became the supervisor of her floor, which was quite an accomplishment for such a young age. When the War broke out they began making the hats and coats for the service men.

During the war she married her best and dearest friend Arthur Petersen to whom she was devoted to for over the next thirty four years. Together they brought two wonderful daughters into the world. She dedicated herself to her family for over the next seventy five years. Watching her children grow, achieve and have families of their own just filled her world with happiness and love.

Throughout her life Mrs. Petersen was a very hard worker. She had continued as a seamstress throughout her lifetime and also worked at Lohmans in Burlington, receiving many awards for her outstanding performance as a sales person there.

When the Senior Center began, Mrs. Petersen was right there helping to organize trips, working in the kitchen, the gift shop or wherever and doing whatever she could to help .

An immaculate housekeeper, fabulous Italian cook who would only have her own home made macaroni’s certainly devoted herself throughout her ninety seven years to her God, her family, and doing whatever she could to help make everyone else’s life a little easier and a lot happier.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Petersen was predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Petersen, her siblings, Joseph, Michael, and Nicholas DeVito, Jean Petrelli, Mary Castiglione, and Frances Basso.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Kathleen F. Walsh and her husband John of Lynnfield and Celia Buscemi of Woburn, and her grandchildren, Caitlin Miaskiewicz and her husband Michael of Salem and Michael Buscemi and his partner Matthew McGovern of Stoneham.
